Soon, the full Senate will debate this bill, considering amendments that would provide additional funding for the Food Stamp program and The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) which stocks food banks. In 2005, 35.1 million people lived in households that face a constant struggle with hunger -- a number that has been growing since 1999.
