Increasingly, that wall has been breached by the members of the religious right, who have had a disturbing degree of success inserting their views in public policy. As a result, though there are close to 2,000 faith groups active in America, we now often answer to the belief system of one. Biased policies are being enacted on issues ranging from reproductive freedom and contraception, to stem cell research, private questions of life and death, and, even, the education of our children.
