The short explanation of this alert was:

The State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) provides more than 4 million otherwise uninsured children with comprehensive, affordable health insurance. Despite the success of the program to date, approximately 8 million children remain uninsured, two-thirds of whom are currently eligible for either SCHIP or Medicaid.

This year, SCHIP is slated to be reauthorized, providing Congress with the opportunity to strengthen and build on the successes of this important program.
