Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit the NCJW Action Center. The short explanation of this alert was: Last week, the Senate unanimously passed the Sudan Accountability and Divestment Act. Soon after, the House acted and sent the bill to the White House and the president must now sign this important legislation into law. The bill protects the right of US states to divest from Sudan and prohibits US government contracts with foreign companies that do business with the government of Sudan, known to be supporting and funding the militias responsible for genocide. Most of these companies deal with the Sudanese oil industry, and 70% of Sudan's oil revenue goes to fund its military. Doing business with Sudan helps finance the ongoing genocide in Darfur.
