Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit the NCJW Action Center. The short explanation of this alert was: In this past summer's Ledbetter v. Goodyear decision, the Supreme Court seriously undermined protections against wage discrimination by limiting the time in which employees could come forward to sue their employers. On July 31, the House of Representative passed the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act (HR 2831) which would reverse the effects of the Court's ruling. Now the Senate plans to take up a similar bill, the Fair Pay Restoration Act (S 1843). President Bush has threatened to veto this legislation so it is essential that the Senate pass it with a strong vote, telling the president that wage discrimination is wrong no matter when it occurred.
