Judge David Hamilton, President Obama's nominee to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals has a judicial record of upholding the law with fairness. He has a demonstrated commitment to constitutional values and principles. His extensive body of decisions shows him to be fair-minded, and he has demonstrated his support for fundamental constitutional values, including the right to privacy, and to the separation of religion and state embedded in the First Amendment.

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted to confirm him and send him to the full Senate on June 4, 2009 after two hearings, but some senators have obstructed a full Senate vote on his confirmation. He deserves an up-or-down vote in the Senate and should be confirmed to his important lifetime seat.
