Soon the full Senate will vote on the nomination of David F. Hamilton to the US Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. Hamilton was nominated by President Obama on March 17, and after two hearings in the Senate Judiciary committee, the Committee has voted to send his confirmation to the floor of the Senate. Judge Hamilton is extremely qualified for this position, having rendered more than 1100 opinions as a district court justice. He has demonstrated an understanding and commitment to fundamental constitutional freedoms.
