Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit the NCJW Action Center. The short explanation of this alert was: The "Pledge Protection Act of 2005" (HR 2389) would strip all federal courts, including the Supreme Court, from the ability to hear challenges to the Pledge of Allegiance and from enforcing longstanding constitutional rights in federal court. This bill is the latest court-stripping bill that would deny access to the courts on specific topics, such as prayer in school and marriage of same-sex couples. Passage of this bill would erode the separation of powers and set a dangerous precedent on other issues. Further, it would eliminate access to the judicial system by victims of discrimination and others. If you would like to view details on this alert, please visit here. |
